Aim for the stars
There is a saying that goes something like: “aim for the stars and if you don’t make it then at least you might land on the moon”. Well, it’s true. It does seem to work that way in real life. It’s really important to dream big and to aim high. I know that a lot of people are afraid of dreaming big and setting high goals for themselves because they are afraid that they will fail and be disappointed in themselves. The risk is just too high for them. But the real risk is in not daring to dream big because then, you are guaranteed a life of mediocrity and even failure. You’ll dwell in the land of average – and average is a failing formula(to quote Grant Cardone).
It is when we enlarge our vision for ourselves that we stretch ourselves, and we grow and become more as a person and we reach our goals. But if we let fear rule over us then we are sure to remain stagnant, shrivel up and die with our deepest hearts’ desires still within us. And then we’ll never know what could have been. We’ll always wonder.
Give yourself permission to dream big
Don’t be afraid to dream big dreams, dreams that will stretch you. You never know what it is that you can accomplish if you would just give yourself permission to start dreaming again and to dream big and aim high.
Write down your goals
Once you’ve given yourself permission to dream big the next step is to write down what it is that you envision for yourself. This is a very, very important step as it dramatically increases your chances of reaching your goals. And this has been proven through studies. Isn’t that something?
The exercise of you writing down your dreams and goals will help you to get the necessary clarity that is required. And clarity is an absolute necessity when it comes to anyone achieving their goals. The Bible says that a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways and that such a man will not receive anything of the Lord(James 1: 5-8).
Whatever you do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.
Goethe
So you see, you need to be clear about what it is that you really, really want. You will have to dig deep sometimes to find out what it is that you really want. Not what your parents want for you, or what your spouse wants, but what it is that YOU want before you can start to work on a dream/goal. Without clarity, you will be double-minded and unstable and as such you will achieve nothing. In other words, you will fail.
Vision boards are awesome as they will help to keep your dreams and goals in front of you and to keep you focused as you pursue your goals.
Should you tell your dreams and goals to friends and family?

I know sometimes you might feel shy about sharing your goals and dreams with family and friends. Well, you don’t have to tell them. If you feel safer not sharing your dreams and goals with dream busters, then don’t. But don’t you dare give up on your dream. Keep dreaming, keep believing and most importantly keep on pursuing and working towards that dream. Even if it is just baby steps. Even if you have to crawl for now, as long as you keep on moving towards your dream.
If you are fortunate enough to have someone in your life that you can trust enough to share your dreams and goals with, do so. It can help to keep you motivated to keep pursuing your dream. But if all you have are dream busters, then I would encourage you to seek out a mentor that you can freely share your dream with or to at least start journaling so that you can have a safe place to freely talk about your dream. Journaling is very therapeutic.
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
Eleanor Roosevelt
The dreams that God has put in your heart are there to guide you and to give you clues as to what your purpose and earth assignment is. Everyone has a different dream, and it is unique for each one. Is has been given to you by God himself and that is why you just cannot give up on it or let the dream busters steal it. Your dreams and goals have been put inside of you to help you to prosper in life. So don’t give up on them and go for it!
